When you receive your bag of biltong, we recommend enjoying it fresh!
If you don’t finish the whole bag at once, follow these guidelines to ensure the best shelf life:
Let it breathe: Transfer any remaining biltong into a paper bag or an open bowl. Airflow is important to help the product stay fresh and maintain its quality.
Storage location: Biltong does not need to be kept in the refrigerator. A room-temperature spot protected from direct sunlight is the best option.
Shelf life: When stored properly in a breathable container, biltong keeps well — often significantly longer than the date printed on the packaging.
Keep away from pets: The aroma of biltong is irresistible. Store it somewhere dogs, cats, and other pets cannot reach.
