Tinga means “shredded” in the Aztec Nahuatl language, and this dish originated from the city of Puebla, Mexico. It is a traditional pulled chicken recipe that combines smoky chipotle chiles, ripe tomatoes, and a touch of sweetness, creating a deep, rich, and aromatic sauce.<\/p>\n

The result is gently spicy, smoky, and rich in tomato flavor \u2013 the perfect filling for tacos, tostadas, or wraps.<\/p>\n

Recipe (4 servings):<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Cook 600 g of chicken in 1 liter of water for about 35 minutes, then remove the chicken and shred the meat. Save the cooking liquid.<\/li>\n
  2. Chop 500 g of tomatoes, saut\u00e9 for 5 minutes, and then add the spice mix.
    \n(Optional: Add chopped onion and saut\u00e9 for 3 minutes.)<\/li>\n
  3. Add 350 ml of cooking liquid, and simmer for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n
  4. Add the shredded chicken and simmer for another 3 minutes.<\/li>\n
  5. Serve on top of tostadas or tortillas with lettuce, sour cream, and avocado.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
